Golden French Toast

I love to make French Toast on the weekend and sit down to eat it with a cup of tea. It might seem like a complex dish but it is so easy to make! The egg gives this meal a good source of protein to help keep you full all morning. You can adjust the amount of tumeric according to your taste preference. I like the golden colour it gives the bread and the benefits of anti-inflammatory properties.
Golden French Toast
Serves 1
Ingredients

2 slices sourdough or other bread

1 egg
-
1 tbs milk
-
A pinch of cardamon

1/2 tsp tumeric
-
2 tsp coconut oil
Topping:
-
1/3 cup ricotta
-
1/2 cup mixed berries
-
1 tsp cacao nibs
-
1 tbs maple syrup
Method

In a bowl beat egg, milk, cardamon and tumeric

Soak bread in mixture
-
Cook in a pan over medium heat in coconut oil for 1-2 minutes then flip so that both sides are golden brown

Top with ricotta, berries, cacao nibs and maple syrup
