Salted Caramel Porridge

If you have a little extra time in the morning, this porridge is so comforting. It provides you with fibre, healthy fats and calcium. Did you know that tahini (made from sesame seeds) is a plant-based source of calcium?
Salted Caramel Porridge
Serves 1
Ingredients

1/2 cup quick oats (porridge oats)

1 cup milk of choice

3 dried dates
-
1 small banana, sliced
-
2 heaped tsp tahini
-
1 tsp water
-
Pinch of salt
-
1 tsp maple syrup
-
Pepita seeds and flaxseeds for topping
Method

Place a small sauce-pan over medium heat

Add oats, milk, dates and half the banana

Stir until the oats are creamy (about 2-3 minutes) and the dates dissolve

Stir in 1 heaped tsp tahini and the salt

In a cup, mix the remaining tahini and water until a thin paste forms

Pour porridge into a bowl
-
Top with remaining banana, pepita seeds and drizzle the tahini sauce and maple syrup over the top
