Peanut Butter Choc Chip Cookies

These are a childhood favourite of mine and making them brings back so many memories of when I used to bake these with my sisters. This recipe is adapted from the original which was from an old Family Circle Cookbook. I hope you create many memories making these. 

Peanut Butter Choc Chip Cookies

Makes 8

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 3 tbs (45g) butter

  • Rounded 1/4 cup of crunchy peanut butter

  • 1/2 cup (100g) dark or milk chocolate chips 

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180⁰c and line a baking tray with baking paper

  2. Add flour, baking powder and sugar in a medium mixing bowl and mix to combine

  3. Add butter and peanut butter in a small saucepan

  4. Heat on low until melted, stirring to combine

  5. Add the egg and the contents of the saucepan to the dry ingredients

  6. Mix using a wooden spoon (or your hands) form a dough

  7. Add chocolate chips and then using your hands roll heaped tablespoons into balls (note: wait until the dough has cooled down enough that the chocolate chips won't melt when you add them!)

  8. Place on a baking tray and flatten until 1 cm thick

  9. Bake for 10 minutes
