Golden French Toast

I love to make French Toast on the weekend and sit down to eat it with a cup of tea. It might seem like a complex dish but it is so easy to make! The egg gives this meal a good source of protein to help keep you full all morning. You can adjust the amount of tumeric according to your taste preference. I like the golden colour it gives the bread and the benefits of anti-inflammatory properties. 

Golden French Toast

Serves 1

  • 2 slices sourdough or other bread

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tbs milk

  • A pinch of cardamon

  • 1/2 tsp tumeric

  • 2 tsp coconut oil


  • 1/3 cup ricotta

  • 1/2 cup mixed berries

  • 1 tsp cacao nibs

  • 1 tbs maple syrup

  1. In a bowl beat egg, milk, cardamon and tumeric

  2. Soak bread in mixture

  3. Cook in a pan over medium heat in coconut oil for 1-2 minutes then flip so that both sides are golden brown

  4. Top with ricotta, berries, cacao nibs and maple syrup
