Broccoli & Tahini Sauce

I was inspired by lunch at Ottolenghi to create this really easy side dish. The tahini and yoghurt sauce pairs perfectly with the crispy broccoli. 

Broccoli & Tahini Sauce

Serves 2-4


  • 1 head broccoli, sliced into thin steaks

  • 2 tbs olive oil

  • 3 garlic gloves, sliced length ways 

  • 4 tbs flaked almond, toasted

  • 1/3 cup Greek yoghurt

  • 2 tsp tahini

  • 2 tsp water

  • 2 tsp lemon juice


  1. ​Heat 1 tbs oil in a large fry pan over medium heat

  2. Cook broccoli steaks for 1-2 minutes on each side until edges start to brown and turn crisp. Place on serving platter

  3. Add remaining oil in the pan and cook garlic until crispy (be careful not to burn)

  4. In a small bowl combine yoghurt, tahini and water and mix until smooth

  5. Sprinkle garlic over broccoli, drizzle tahini sauce and sprinkle almonds on top

  6. Serve with your favourite meal
