Cacao & Banana Porridge

This bowl of oats feels indulgent due to the combination of cacao and peanut butter but it is a warming and balanced breakfast option. 

Cacao & Banana Porridge

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats

  • 1/4 cup Barley Plus porridge (or 1/4 cup rolled oats or quinoa flakes) 

  • 1 cup milk of choice

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamon

  • 2 tsp cacao

  • 1 banana

  • 2 tsp cacao nibs

  • 2 tsp Mayvers cacao super spread (or any other peanut butter) 

Method

  1. Add oats, barley, milk, spices & cacao into a small pan

  2. Mash 1/2 the banana and add to pan, stir to combine

  3. Cook over medium heat for approximately 5 minutes, stirring regularly. Add a dash of milk at a time if needed until thick and creamy

  4. Pour into bowl and top with remaining banana, cacao nibs and peanut butter
